Read 1 Peter 1:1-9;
2:12, 15, 20-25: 3;11-16; 4:12-19. Write two to three paragraphs using the
principles of these verses to explain to someone who says: Life isn’t fair. Why
do I have to have so many trials? I’m tired of being ridiculed by those who do
not keep the commandments.”
The reason why I choose this assignment was because I feel
that I have been that person that cries to the heavens with “Life not fair” and
“why me”. I’m the 2nd oldest of 6 so I believe this attitude started
quit young. In my own personal journey of feeling like the “other prodigal son”
I have come to love this quote from Richard Claffield. “The gospel of Jesus
Christ is not an insurance against pain. It is a resource in the event of
pain.” Our life’s are not meant to be perfect, but made perfect with the
atonement of Christ in the life to come.
I believe that others can find comfort in 1 Peter 4:12-13
when it says. “ (12) The fiery trail which is to try you as thought some
strange thing happened unto you: (13) But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers
of Christ sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad
also with exceeding joy.” We should not
considered, our trails as God not loving us enough. This scripture is saying
the opposite. When we suffering, we are suffering how are Savior suffered for
us. It’s not something we should take for granted because the Son of God is
perfect and we are emulating him. It also means that we will experice the Son
of God’s joy when his work is finished.
We should not let the world get to us. It’s one of Satan
greatest tools; twisting the truth to make us disbelieve in God’s love. If we
but endure to the end, great things will come to those that are rightness. Heavenly Father is the “faithful Creator” and
will not aboded us. (1 Peter 4:19)
