2 Peter 2:1-19 is where Peter teachers us ways
to recognize false teachers by seeing their Characteristics.
1) “ They shall
follow their pernicious ways”-(Peter 2:2)
“ They with feigned words make merchandise of you.” Or in
other words they will sell us things. (2 Peter 2:3)
They follow the old law, so they can turn our cities into
Sodom and Gomorrha.” (2 Peter 2:7)
“Selfwillled,” “Presumptous,” lust of uncleanness. (2Peter
2:10)
“Adultery, and curse children.” Their the people that don’t
want us to have children but to live with one another without getting married. (2
Peter 2:14)
They fallow “Balaam” who loved unrightessneness (2Peter 2:15)
They promise liberty, but are in bondage. (2 Peter 2:19)
“Speak great swelling
words of vanity” “Allure to lustful thoughts “ ( 2 Peter 2:18)
We know that false teachers are one of Satan’s greatest
tools, in deceiving the son of man. By knowing their tactics we can better
prepare, and see avoid them. It’s easier to avoid something that you know what
it is and how it can hurt you.
2) The reason why it’s dangers to return to the “pollutions
of the world” is because man has the trendies for falling back into our old
ways. It’s very hard to with stand the temptations of the world especially
after you have had a taste of sin. It’s a moment of pleasure that doesn’t
provide lasting happiness’s.
