Paul concluded his
epistle to Hebrews with some brief teaching and statements of counsel. Read
Hebrews 13 and find statements about the following questions.
How should we treat
stranger and those ‘in bonds”?
Paul used in the word entertain in Hebrews 13:2. I feel it
means that we should remember to invite and include them so we can show them
kindness/ friendship. The reason for this is because we never know what is in
their hearts and the spirit might be needed us to help open the door to the
gospel.
How is marriage
looked upon?
Marriage to Paul in Hebrew 13:4 is honorable. There is now
shame for a man and women to be married. God will also never punish you for
getting married.
What warnings are
given about covetousness?
In Hebrew 13:5 it says that we should remember to be content
with what we have because God gave everything to us and He will always provide.
What is the “same
yesterday, and today and forever?
Jesus Christ is the “same yesterday, today, and forever.
Hebrews 13:8.
How are we
sanctified?
Hebrews 13: 12 is where Paul states that Jesus is how we are
sanctified. It throw his blood and suffering that we are saved. He offers up sacrifices
to him using our “lips” and good deeds.
How do we respond to
those who rule over us?
Hebrews 13:17 Paul says that we should “obey” those who rule
over us because they watch our for our souls and are accountable before god for
our joy and grief.
Who did Paul ask the
people to pray for?
In Hebrews 13:18 Paul says that we should pray for everybody,
in hopes to live a more honest life.
